ACA Health Insurance
- ACA (Affordable Care Act) plans
- Health insurance if you're under 65, on or off the Marketplace. From Matt's explainer below
For those looking for health insurance under the age of 65, there are numerous options. The Affordable Care Act brought about changes in health insurance that eliminated pre-existing condition exclusions. These plans can be purchased on or off the marketplace. Med Plan Advisors will help you through the process of selecting the appropriate plan and as always our help is of NO COST to you!
Typically, these plans have an annual enrollment period in November and December for the coverage to start the following January. At times, there may be exceptions to this rule that would allow for enrollment during an SEP or Special Enrollment Period. We would be happy to see if you may qualify for this SEP.
Some of the Insurance carriers that offer ACA plans are: Ambetter from Meridian Health, Blue Care Network, Blue Cross Blue Shield, McLaren Health Plan Community, Molina Healthcare, Priority Health and UnitedHealthcare
There is also availability of an off Marketplace offering by HAP or Health Alliance Plan that offers a Fully Qualified Health Plan (FQHP) This plan is not offered through the Marketplace so it is offered to those not seeking a tax credit or subsidy.
Short-Term Plans
In some instances, it may be appropriate to select a short-term medical plan. We can help with those as well. Short-term plans are a bridge for those who missed the enrollment period of the main line ACA health plans. Many states only allow these plans to be purchased for a 6 month maximum period.
Some of the Insurance carriers with Short-Term plans are: UHC, Priority Health and Pivot Health.
